Counselling & Psychotherapy

Motherhood is a time of huge transition, whether it is the first or fifth child you have welcomed into the world. And the unfortunate truth is that motherhood often clashes with our modern societal structures.

I believe there are a range of challenges that are really specific to mothers that lead to us often struggling with our mental health in one way or another. Here is your space to explore that, I am going to get a cuppa tea and sit beside you (virtually) whilst you share what’s going on for you.

Whether you have a clear view of what’s feeling out of whack or you just feel like you’ve been shot out of a cannon, you have a safe space to share all that you need to; nothing is off-limits.

We can explore topics present in the now, looking at your past,

As a relational practitioner, I believe the basis of our relationship is at the forefront of the work we do together. My lens is holistic as a counsellor, I am looking from a wide angle into your experience, and your individual experience is central to our work together.

I offer both long-term and short-term counselling depending on your needs and requirements, we will discuss this in a discovery call.

We would meet regularly each week at the same time via zoom. I have a 48-hour cancellation policy, all sessions cancelled within this time are charged at full rate.

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are charged at £75 they will be payable weekly following the session.

Birth Story Sessions

Moving through the birth portal is one of the most powerful experiences a woman can have, and it also calls us into deep surrender. Due to the nature of birth, it is a vulnerable time in many ways, and challenges can arise that leave us feeling traumatised, betrayed, confused, lost, and so much more. When birthing within the medical system we may also be confronted in making choices or decisions we did not anticipate – during moments of high stress.

There are numerous reasons we can experience difficulties in assimilating our birth experience, and I know how hard it can be to go back over the experience. I felt frozen for so long following birth until I managed to explore my story in a new way. And through my healing experience, I was able to have the birth of dreams for my next baby.

Birth story sessions may come at any time postpartum, whether that’s a month after birth or 20 years after birth. You may be pregnant again and feel as though your previous birth experience haunts you. You may just be aware that your birth was hard, and since you have struggled with an aspect/s of life. Or there may be another reason entirely. There is no limitation in terms of time, you decide what you need, and when you need it.

Your journey guides our session, and we’ll follow your lead, starting at whatever point feels most important to you. Together, we’ll delve into your birth experience and discuss any feelings that arise. If any topics feel too delicate, that’s completely okay. Please remember, there’s absolutely no pressure here!

We will explore how you feel your birth story is impacting your life in the present. I am interested in looking at the whole picture from a holistic standpoint rather than through one individual lens. I will contact you a few days after the session to check-in. This will be a chance to ask any questions you may have and share any thoughts.

If you feel you need more support we can discuss the potential of some weekly sessions (open-ended or short-term). There is no pressure here.
